![]() I don't want to have to buy Adobe storage for Lightroom photos, iCloud storage for docs and things I want sync'd across my devices, including Photos.app after I export my Lightroom jpeg's and want them in a more convenient place on all my Apple devices, Google storage for their apps, email, etc. It's honestly getting more and more frustrating that, as the large vendors shift towards software as a service, they're also shifting towards a strategy of intentional lock-in for their own proprietary storage. It makes me wonder if there's some wheeling and dealing possible on those prices, or if they simply don't want to get into a storage price battle with Apple and Google. It does seem kind of curious that they're going out of their way to not have the pricing publicized for the higher tier plans. This is because the cloud storage platform itself is meant to serve as an extension to the rich creativity suite, rather than as a permanent storage solution in its own right. Thanks arij2010. However, it falls fairly short when judged simply as a cloud storage solution. Adobe Creative Cloud: Final verdictĪdobe Creative Cloud is the best and perhaps only cloud-based creative solution in the market. If you are looking for a general cloud storage solution rather than a creativity suite, Google Drive is a much better option than Creative Cloud. The plans are also very affordable and offer a lot of control and flexibility over how much storage you want. Google Drive, on the other hand, offers productivity-based file editing capabilities that are second to none. It also lacks additional features like bandwidth throttling and data verification. It doesn’t offer nearly as much flexibility with its data plans, either. ![]() It also offers business plans for companies looking to utilize cloud storage.Īdobe Creative Cloud also comes with similar encryption measures for Team and Enterprise users, but the information is sparse on the quality of at-rest encryption offered in personal plans. You can also opt to use a private encryption key, which means not even IDrive can access your data. IDrive, for example, offers plans that are a lot more affordable, along with 256-bit AES encryption for data in transit and at rest. This is because it’s not a dedicated cloud storage platform, but rather an extension of a cloud-based creativity suite. Adobe Creative Cloud: Interface and in useĪs a cloud storage provider, Adobe Creative Cloud doesn’t quite match the breadth of features offered by services like IDrive or Google Drive. This is helpful should you find yourself wanting to undo some of your recent changes. You also get access to a limited file versioning feature that allows you to restore previous versions of your creative work up to a few weeks prior. The drag-and-drop interface of the cloud storage platform is intuitive and easy to use. What’s more, download and upload speeds are relatively slow compared to other cloud storage platforms, but they have improved over the past two years. You can upload files up to 20GB in the Creative Cloud Files folder. Changes are synchronized in real-time, allowing you to collaborate with other creative professionals as you make live changes to your projects.Īdobe Creative Cloud has some limitations on file sizes, but it's improved from the past. The pitch here is rather focused on its suite of creativity apps, with the cloud storage serving as more of a unified platform to access, manage, and use these applications.Īdobe constantly synchronizes the latest versions of all files stored via its cloud storage platform to the device or devices of your choice, provided you have access to a stable internet connection. Creative Cloud isn’t big on cloud storage features (Image credit: Adobe Creative Cloud)Īdobe Creative Cloud isn’t big on features when it comes to its cloud storage platform. ![]() If you’re not an expert at coding, which is where I tend to live, this tool is a lifesaver. Then, it takes the solutions to the more minor problems and utilizes them to get the optimal solution to the initial, more involved issue. When a vast issue is split down into its constituent parts, a computer will apply a mathematical algorithm to determine which elements have the most desirable solution. On the other hand, optimum substructures locate the best solution to an issue, then build the solution that provides the best results overall. When a more extensive set of equations is broken down into smaller groups of equations, overlapping subproblems are referred to as equations that reuse portions of the smaller equations several times to arrive at a solution. Dynamic programming is a computer programming technique where an algorithmic problem is first broken down into sub-problems, the results are saved, and then the sub-problems are optimized to find the overall solution - which usually has to do with finding the maximum and minimum range of the algorithmic query. |
